    Excellent 6 month contract with the opportunity to turn into a long term position based on performance.  Seeking a professional, creative Engineer with a background in modification and design. 

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for developing installation requirements, technical information, airframe production installation/fabrication drawings, engineering instructions, and related production guidance materials as it pertains to the mechanical and structural aspects of a modification program.

     

    • Review and develop requirements and ensure requirements are implemented in design solutions
    • Ensure design content meets requirements of Statement of Work
    • Manage project deliverables and schedules
    • Create, review, and approve detail, assembly, and installation drawings
    • Develop and review 3-D models to support the installation of mechanical and structural provisions
    • Prepare, review, and approve engineering documents such as Weight and Balance Reports, Stress Analysis Reports, Thermal Analysis Reports, Modification Instructions, etc. to support FAA or military certification as required.
    • Create and review classical stress analysis and FEA
    • Conduct internal and external design reviews
    • Mentor and guide staff engineers and mechanical engineers
    • Provide technical assistance to Business Development in order to develop proposals, statement of works, and labor estimations

    Qualifications

    Education: B.S. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Degree.

     

    Skills & Experience:

    • Minimum of ten (10) years aerospace engineering or design experience FAA Aircraft Mechanical Systems and Equipment Designated
    • Engineering Representative status may be used as credit for four (4) years of aerospace experience
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience creating and/or reviewing stress analysis reports
    • Proficient with MS Office, 3D CAD modeling and drafting software (SOLIDWORKS preferred), and FEA (NASTRAN or AutoDesk Simulation preferred).
