    Excellent 6 month contract opportuinty with the potential for long term.  DRG Professional Services is seeking an experienced, creative Sr. Electrical Engineer to support aircraft modification programs. 

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for developing and reviewing installation requirements, technical information, avionics production installation/fabrication drawings, engineering instructions, and related production guidance materials as it pertains to the avionics and electrical aspects of a modification program.

     

    • Lead Engineer for DoD and FAA aircraft modification programs
    • Review and develop requirements and ensure requirements are implemented in design solutions
    • Ensure design content meets requirements of Statement of Work
    • Manage project deliverables and schedules
    • Develop, review, and approve wiring diagrams to support the installation of avionics and electrical provisions
    • Create, review, and approve detail, assembly, and installation drawings
    • Prepare, review, and approve engineering design feasibility studies and reports.
    • Prepare, review, and approve documentation to support FAA and military airworthiness approvals
    • Prepare, review, and approve engineering documents such as Ground Test Procedures, Electrical Load Analysis, Modification Instructions, etc.
    • Track design progress
    • Conduct internal and external design reviews
    • Liaise with Manufacturing and Production Operations
    • Provide technical assistance to Business Development in order to develop proposals, statement of works, and labor estimations
    • Mentor Junior Engineers
    • Define and improve engineering design process.

     

    Qualifications

     Education: B.S. Electrical or Aerospace Engineering Degree.

     

    Skills & Experience:

    • Minimum of ten (10) years aerospace engineering or design experience
    • FAA Aircraft Electrical Systems and Equipment Designated Engineering Representative status may be used as credit for four (4) years of aerospace experience
    • Proficient with MS Office, 3D CAD modeling and drafting software (SOLIDWORKS Electrical preferred)
    • Experience designing wiring diagrams, harness and installation drawings.
