DRG is seeking a Masters-prepared, enthusiastic professional with a passion for pediatric health-care to act as the Director of the Pediatric Surgical Unit.
Supporting Oklahoma's level 1 trauma center and freestanding pediatric hospital, the Director will oversee the 40-bed Pediatric Surgical Specialty (Med/Surg) unit. We are seeking an individual with proven leadership experience with evidence of outcome improvement in reduction of turnover, HAC, other PI initiatives; increased or positive results in employee engagement, patient experience, and retention.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Masters Degree preferred
Five (5) years experience in health-care facility, including experience in supervisory or senior management capacity. Experience in an academic medical center preferred.
Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Knowledge of nursing principles and techniques related to assigned department(s). Knowledge of managerial functions such as ability to solve practical problems, maintain a budget, report writing and performance improvement tools. Good computer skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills for interaction with staff, patients and medical professionals. Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks at one time. Skills in planning, coordinating and measuring departmental activities.
