We are looking for a full time Registered Polysomnographic Technologist III to support a AASM-accredited Sleep Disorder Center.

    Responsibilities

    Under limited direction, performs routine, intermediate and advanced level polysomnographic testing and provides technical analysis of the subsequent data which allows precise diagnosis of physiologic disorders of sleep.

    • Educates and prepares patient for tests
    • Measures the electrical activity of a patient’s brainwaves, with the use of specialized equipment
    • Responsible for the electrode placement and operation of equipment and various sensors to obtain readings such as electroencephalogram (EEG), electrooculogram (EOG), electrocardiogram (EKG), airflow respiratory effort, oxygen saturation and gastric pH monitoring
    • Documents physiological activity and abnormal readings; takes necessary measurements of brain waves; provides a detailed report for the physician
    • Calibrates, maintains and sets up necessary equipment
    • Participates in and gathers information for Performance Improvement Projects
    • Serves as a preceptor for students and new employees
    • Responds to emergency situations
    • Supervision may involve assigning and reviewing work and acting as a group leader
    • Assists the coordinator with education and orientation of staff
    • In the absence of the coordinator, may fill in for this position
    • Assists with patient callbacks using Meditech Discharge Call Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Registered PSGT with three (3) years experience in adult or pediatric sleep lab OR CRT or RRT with three (3) years of related experience. If applying as a CRT or RRT must have current Oklahoma license.
    • Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist OR Registered Respiratory Therapist. BLS upon hire.
    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of safety and maintenance of electrical equipment. Knowledge of sleep disorders and treatment. Experience operating equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Ability to explain technical information in such a way that a layperson can understand. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and prepare a written report. Good computer skills.
