    DRG Professional Services is currently seeking an Engineering Technical Expert to join a globally recognized manufacturing company that manufactures shot blasting and grinding equipment for surface preparation in Oklahoma City. This Engineering Technical Expert will principally machines, fabricate, weld and/or assemble prototype equipment in the R&D Department. This person will workly closely with design team personnel and may be directed by an engineer, designer, and/or other techinicans.

    Responsibilities

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Support engineering with technical calls, warranty work/ warranty evaluation, building of prototypes, building of production machines. :
    •       - Conversations with engineers, product managers, suppliers, customers, etc.
    •       - Technical documents.
    •       - Operation of equipment.
    • Understand basic mechanical principles and the function of common mechanical components.
    • Analyze mechanical systems to troubleshoot and correct problems using measuring and testing equipment.
    • Document characteristics of mechanical systems.
    • Use tools (lathe, saw, mill, drill, grinder, sander, waterjet, etc…) necessary to create prototypes and fixtures
    • Support Manufacturing and Engineering as needed
    • Have the ability and willingness to cross-train in other functions of the department.
    • Work independently much of the time, with limited supervision.
    • Work to help assemble machines as needed.

    Qualifications

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Mainly time will be spent in the shop.
    • Occasional outdoor work in all weather conditions.
    • Use of personal protective equipment as specified in the Safety Policy.
    • Working with hazardous materials, including gasoline, diesel, solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases and fluids.
    • Changing workloads and priorities.
    • 40-hour workweeks, with possible overtime as needed.

    Qualifications (Education, Experience and Competencies):

    • Must have or be able to obtain class A CDL.
    • Minimum of 5 years direct experience as a service tech or similar position.
    • Be able to diagnose and correct problems with mechanical systems.
    • Be able to communicate effectively over the phone and before groups of people.
    • Work well with others in a team setting.
    • Be willing to work overtime or extra hours as needed.
