General Contractor is actively seeking a Senior Level Construction Estimator located in our Phoenix AZ. Corp. office to participate in the analysis of costs and prepare estimates on construction projects as required. This position may be required to provide technical and administrative support to project operations with emphasis on estimating, reporting and monitoring progress, planning, scheduling, and dealing with project change. Site visits are required for all projects, some travel will be necessary.


We are a SBA, MBE, HUBZone General Contractor.  We work at military installations all over the country. Our construction contracts range from small renovation and repairs to major multi-year projects involving all trades and divisions. We are involved in hard competitive bid, select invited bid and negotiated bid work.


  • Senior level Estimator with responsibilities to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications
  • Analyze blueprints to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates
  • Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors
  • Prepare line item take offs and estimates of probable costs of materials, labor and equipment for construction projects based on subcontract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.
  • Establish and maintain estimating process, set up cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures.
  • Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects
  • Participates in site review, SOW review, project hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetings with the Chief Estimator, Project Manager, and Purchasing as required
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors, multistate area
  • Interact and consult and communicate with engineers, architects, customers, vendors, contractors and subcontractors
  • Participate in material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs as required
  • Attend site visits and contract price negotiations as required



  • Equivalent trade experience and knowledge, minimum 10 years estimating for a Prime Contractor working on Federal Government projects, preferably DoD, or five years as Project Manager and 5 years working in estimating department for Prime Contractor.
  • In depth knowledge of the construction industry and estimating processes for federal gov’t work.
  • Planning and scheduling skills
  • Understanding of project forecasting and projections
  • Ability to read drawings and project/structural design interpretation
  • Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong knowledge of RS Means costing and Sage (formerly Timberline) estimating required
  • Dispute resolution and negotiation skills
  • Knowledgeable with multi-state pricing and subcontractor base
  • Knowledge of FAR regulations and various government contract delivery methods
  • Experience with USACE projects and pricing methods
  • Must pass background check and drug screen to be considered for this position
  • Valid, clean drivers’ license required
