Overview

DRG Professional Services is currently partnered with family owned company who supports the U.S. Military and commercial aerospace enterprises through highly specialized technical applications of Military and Aerospace hardware.  We are looking for an experienced Project Mechanical Engineer to advance their team.  

 

 

Responsibilities

Position Overview: 

  • Design, develop and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment and machinery. 
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing products such as motors, engines, brakes, instruments, controls and machines. 
  • Assist in all phases of fabrication, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products and Repair and Overhaul products. 
  • Design and develop a product or product family. 
  • Develop and implement tests for finished product functionality and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.

Essential Duties of the Position:

  • Design, develop and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment and machinery for assigned projects
  • Evaluate existing designs; sample parts or other inputs
  • Ensure product drawings and specifications are attainable once released to the production departments
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design, improve, and troubleshoot products such as motors, engines, instruments, controls and machines
  • Create appropriate solid models and drawings per DRM
  • Obtain and maintain necessary specifications to define projects
  • Write assembly and functional analysis of complex devices
  • Release designs
  • Support the solicitation process (research, product compatibility, technical recommendations
  • Write ATP’s, QTP’s and SAR packages
  • Take immediate action to correct out-of-tolerance problems as they arise
  • Assist personnel to produce products conforming to or exceeding customer requirements
  • Work to resolve problems throughout the organization
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects
  • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Maintain familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word) and Design software

Qualifications

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline, preferably Mechanical, or comparable experience

 

Technical Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in addition to BD Degree in Engineering
  • 11-20 years of experience in additional to an Associates Degree in Engineering
  • 20 + years of experience to a High School Diploma
