The Technical Analyst is the in-house expert on the various retail technologies including point-of-sale (POS), audio, payment, and customer experience, and the integrations between highly interactive systems.


Key responsibilities include extensive second/third level technical troubleshooting, coordinating with various software development teams on root cause analysis and defect recreation/documentation, software/hardware documentation (technical architecture, troubleshooting, support training, & end user training), development/enhancement of software/hardware support models for ongoing initiatives, and working with various project teams on fitting new technologies into a standardized support model.




  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of technical acumen.
  • Utilizes problem solving, customer service skills, strong written and verbal skills.
  • A strong customer focus is required; this position includes frequent interaction with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be self-motivated and driven to go the distance with potential unhappy technology consumers.
  • Strong desire for learning processes, procedures and new software and hardware capabilities required.
  • Proven skills in technology troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and have good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet specific deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Experience with credit card technologies, back office systems, polling technologies and audio systems would be extremely beneficial.
  • Base technical skills including computer operating systems, computer hardware, networks, and communication platforms are required.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet technologies, presentation skills and database experience are necessary.
  • Ability to rotate "on call" for technical or service challenges required. The rotation requires work during non-corporate business hours including nights and weekends.

Skills Needed:

  • L3 Technical Troubleshooting
  • TCP/IP experience
  • Windows Application Support ex. Upgrading versions of Windows OS and supporting
  • Log File experience
  • Root cause analysis
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work with vendors


Preferred Skills:

  • PowerShell Scripting
  • ISS
  • Networking Set-up and Support of Active Directory and Windows


Vendor Products Used: (Experienced in these technologies would be a big bonus but not expected.)

  • Oracle and Infor (POS)
  • Audio: HME and Oracle
  • Payment: NCR
