Overview

DRG Professional Services is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to manage the Electrical Engineering Department in the development and review of requirements, technical information, avionics system integration, wiring diagrams, harness designs, electrical fabrication drawings, engineering instructions, and production guidance materials as it pertains to the electrical/avionic aspects of a modification program.

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage technical capabilities, including resources, processes, and tools of the Electrical Engineering Department
  • Supervise daily activities of electrical engineers and drafters
  • Ensure design content meets requirements of Statement of Work
  • Organize and lead technical working groups in specific areas
  • Track design progress, manage project deliverables, and schedules
  • Provide critical review for program delivery
  • Conduct internal and external design reviews
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering design feasibility studies and reports
  • Prepare, review, and approve documentation to support FAA and military airworthiness approvals
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering documents such as Ground Test Procedures, Electrical Load Analysis, Modification Instructions, etc.
  • Review and approve detail, assembly, and installation drawings
  • Liaise with Manufacturing and Production Operations
  • Leverage past aircraft modification experience and provide technical guidance to design team
  • Assist employees with career development
  • Implement training and development programs
  • Provide technical assistance to Business Development in order to develop proposals, statement of works, and labor estimations
  • Prepare recurring and non-recurring engineering cost estimates

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education:

 

  • B.S. Electrical or Aerospace Engineering Degree
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred.

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years aerospace engineering or design experience
  • FAA Aircraft Electrical Systems and Equipment Designated Engineering
  • Representative (DER) status may be used as credit for four (4) years ofaerospace experience
  • Proficient with MS Office and drafting software (SOLIDWORKS preferred).
