Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership to the operational supply chain function unit and ensure highly efficient supply chain execution in  terms of material cost, supplier quality, supplier delivery and purchased parts inventory.  This will include; supplier planning, procurement and operational logistics. 

 

Primary focus includes but is not limited to:

  • Development and implementation of efficient buying & logistics process with tight linkage to value stream planning and overarching SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning).
  • Collaborating with Value Steams and Strategic Sourcing to set up Kanban and other pull agreements with the suppliers
  • Management and execution of supplier planning/buying function including financial and regulatory compliance
  • Collaboration with strategic sourcing to meet material productivity goals for the Business Unit
  • Tactical supplier performance management - Supplier Quality & Delivery Purchased parts inventory optimization
  • Management of operational logistics (receiving/shipping) Support of Make to Buy initiatives

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive execution on following key supply base metrics: Supplier Delivery (OTO), Purchased Parts Inventory, Supplier Quality (PPM), Cost (Material Savings / PPV)
  • Manage day-to-day Supply Chain and Materials Management functions to achieve key metrics (mainly 100% kits complete to assembly, on time, at planned cost and quality).
  • Responsible for standard work associated with buying and operational logistics for the Business Unit
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to develop and execute the best value global supply chain for the Business Unit
  • Manage the operational logistics function including import/export
  • Optimize purchased parts inventory (Standard Parts, Custom Parts, Engineered to Order Parts) and implementing inventory optimization solutions for purchased parts in collaboration with Value Streams and Strategic Sourcing.
  • Collaborate with Operations to develop and execute Make/Buy strategies.
  • Drive and ensure suppliers are held accountable for meeting continuous improvement initiatives including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement &inventory reduction (entire supply chain).
  • Review and ensure that the appropriate financial metrics are monitored and proper fiscal controls are in place to maximize cost savings throughout the function.
  • Develop and automate key metrics and ensure continuous improvement to metrics over time.
  • Identify and improve MRP utilization and functionality. 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required; MBA preferred

Certifications: 

  • CPM or CPIM Certification a plus.
  • Six Sigma /Lean Certification is a plus.

Experience:

  •  Experience with manufacturing supply chain & aerospace/ automotive / medical industries
  • 7+ years of supply chain operations experience
  • 3+ years of supervision & management experience
  • Strong background and understanding of:
    • Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)
    • Tactical Procurement (Buying)
    • Kanban/Pull Systems  &  Inventory Optimization
    • Operational Logistics
  • Strong domestic and prefer international supply chain background
  • Prefer experience in MRP implementation 
  • Prefer experience with LCC sourcing
